Out of Town Patients

A Comprehensive Planning Guide

If you’re considering plastic surgery, it’s important to choose your surgeon based on their education, training, certification and experience. That’s why you should contact Dr. Christopher Khorsandi for your next cosmetic procedure. He is dedicated to helping all of his patients, both in and out of town.

Dr. Khorsandi has patients visiting him from all over the country for his specialization in breast augmentation surgery.

Since there are so many factors involved with surgery, we want to make sure that if you need to travel for your procedure, it’s as easy as possible. That’s why we’ve put together this comprehensive planning guide for you to better understand exactly what to except when traveling for your breast augmentation surgery.

The Initial Consultation

Depending on your location, you’ll either have an in-person consultation with Dr. Khorsandi or you will conduct your consultation over the phone and through emailing.

In-Person Consultation

If you live outside of Nevada and would prefer to have an in-person consultation, it’s easy to be arranged. Just call the office to make an appointment with a few dates that you have available.

From there, Dr. Khorsandi and you will meet and discuss your concerns, goals and the procedure(s) you’d like to move forward with. You will spend some time going over all of the details about your procedure including the options and expectations that you have, what the results will look like and what to expect for your recovery. At an in-person consultation, you will receive a physical examination including photographs and measurements taken to prepare for your upcoming surgery.

Before leaving the office you will know your surgical itinerary and pre-op procedures in addition to receiving a price quote and any prescriptions you will need post-op.

Phone/Email Consultation

If you can’t make it to Dr. Khorsandi’s office until your surgery, we are happy to accommodate you over the phone or through email. In order to maximize the effectiveness of these meetings please make sure to do couple of things to prepare.

First completely fill out the medical history form provided. This will give Dr. Khorsandi a chance to look over your history in great detail and understand your individual case prior to speaking with you on the phone.

Second, please send over a series of pictures so that you and Dr. Khorsandi can discuss specifics for your procedure. This is essential for you to receive a successful consultation. The pictures will give you both reference points during your conversation so that you can communicate to Dr. Khorsandi exactly what your goals are.

In order to get the most out of your consultation, please take 5 different pictures of the areas you want to focus on. These pictures work best when they’re all taken at different angles so that Dr. Khorsandi can see the complete picture. Depending on your procedure, additional pictures may be required. Please contact the office for more information.

Following your phone/email consultation, you’ll receive the same information as you would an in-person consultation. If you need any medical clearances, such as a physical exam or baseline mammogram, you can complete those with your at-home doctor.

Remember, your consultation is the perfect time for you to take an active role in your surgery, so don’t be afraid to ask questions and speak freely. Safety is our number 1 priority and if you have any concerns, please discuss them with Dr. Khorsandi during your consultation.

Preparing for Surgery

When your surgery date begins to draw closer, there are preparative instructions that you will need to follow. Dr. Khorsandi and his dedicated team of professionals will give you a detailed set of instructions specific to your procedure. These instructions will include any medical clearances you might need prior to surgery.

To ensure a seamless procedure, please follow all preoperative instructions given to you by Dr. Khorsandi and his team. As a general rule, the more planning involved, the better your cosmetic surgery experience will be. You will need to cease any smoking at least six weeks before surgery, avoid taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs and stay hydrated.

Before the time of your surgical procedure, book a hotel and any transportation that you will need. We recommend arriving at least 2 days before any surgery begins and having a place to comfortably return to is a much better option than trying to find something post-op (please don’t do this!). Ask a friend or family member to come with you to help keep you company, drive home from the surgery and take care of you during recovery.

You will not be allowed to drive yourself to or from our office on the day of your scheduled surgery so make sure you have someone with you.

Recovering in Las Vegas

Since general anesthesia is typically used for procedures, we monitor all of your vital signs during the procedure and briefly following. After your surgery is complete, we insist that you stay in our recovery area so that we can monitor your immediate post-op progress.

Afterwards you will be able to return to your hotel or home. Any and all specific postoperative instructions will be given those upon leaving in addition to verbal instructions. You will experience tenderness, swelling, discomfort and sensitivity following your surgery. Our team will go over each of these with you personally and provide an extensive recovery plan.
